Hi crafsters,

I love this site and have been lurking on and off here for a couple of years now.  I live in London, UK and have three kids.  We are on a tight budget this year ( but who isn't  Huh) so I am trying to make all our gifts home made and frugal too.

I have made melt and pour soap but wanted to do it the oil and lye way is it is lots cheaper.  I have used Chinese food containers as the moulds and some delicious fig scent which I already had.  The colour is Cranberry red, although they look more like pink blamanges Grin.

I used cookie cutters on some of the soap and others I just sliced to make bars.

Sorry about the really rough photos, it's not my strong point.

The recipe is from this site http:// [url]http://www.channel4.com/4homes/design-style/how-to-guides/how-to-make-soap-09-12-02_p_1.html[url].

Thanks for looking and Happy Seasons crafting.

You did a great job! And frugal Christmases are just fine .... I make things every year, and was talking with my mom about it.

"I remember the years when I had to do that. Now I guess it's your turn."
"Mom, just because you CAN buy everything at Christmas doesn't mean you SHOULD."

Congratulations, they look great.   I love the colour:).
I went to hobbycraft yesterday and bought some soap making supplies (which weren't cheap) and am going to have a go this evening.   I didn't realise  it's cheaper to make it with lye etc.
Mind you, I haven't got a clue how to do this. Would you mind telling me where to get the supplies for that type of soap making---pretty pleez?Smiley  I also live in the UK (Southampton).   I presume there are tutorials on the good old web as to how to make it?.

I'm in the UK too and I buy all my soap making supplies on eBay.  I can't get anything round where I live and I find eBay much cheaper anyway.  Hope this helps.

Hey guys, here are some UK suppliers off of the supplier list I've compiled. I forget who recommended them but if you have used any other suppliers that you like please let me know!

Hi there,
Your soap looks lovely, I have not made melt and pour soap, only CP.  I love the pink color.  It is great to receive home made gifts for Christmas.
