This is the first thing I've ever crocheted Cheesy *proud!*

I wanted to make lots of rainbow squares, but started with these colours and decided I liked them too much together to add anything else, I decided they're all summer berryish colours (blueberry, blackberry, strawberry and erm pink berry) so it is known as the summer berry blanket Smiley  It's a good size for sitting on the sofa, I wanted to make it for my double bed, but I got bored of it halfway through!

I'm a bit sad about the edges, I did them wrong and they're all ruffly, but I can't find the end where I finished it off to unravel it!  Also, no camera in my house can capture the colours properly, the blue is more turquoise-y, the purple is lighter, the dark pink is less red-dy and the light pink is a bit brighter!

This is gorgeous, I love al the colours.I'm planning to make a blanket soon and I was wondering how long it took you. also, I can't quite see but did you make the last round of all the squares the same?

Anyway, you should be realy proud especialy as it is the first ever thing you've crocheted :0

Very good for your first time crocheting!  I think the ruffled edges make it look cute and girly!  Grin

Very cute! I also like the ruffly edges but if you're set against them you could try blocking it... that could help a little. Smiley

Thanks so much Smiley

This took about 6 months to make, but I did it with lots of breaks inbetween, once I'd practiced granny's lots then I could make one in about 20 mins (while watching TV too!) and there are 121 squares here, which is too big of a sum for me to do! And then sewing it up and going round the edges took time too...but it didn't take up a massive amount of time.  And yeah, the last round of all the squares I did in cream (there are 4 rounds in each square, the 1st 3 are one colour then the 4th is cream)

Thanks..I did try blocking it and ironing it (and stamping on the edges) nothing will make the ruffles go out! I made it from acrylic so I think thats why  Undecided

I was going to suggest "raspberry," but I like "pink berry" way better Smiley

This is a very impressive first project! Way to stick it out for 6 months--you have a lovely finished product to show for it!
