I just tried making it for the first time tonight.  I found a recipe online and it is so yummy.  Only took maybe 30-45 seconds to make and it was well worth it.  I don't think I'll be buying the sugary store bought kind anymore.  Smiley

Oh, yum!  The strawberry version sounds incredible.  I'll have to try it when I'm done with my current South Beach phase.  Wink

Note to this recipe...use immediately as the sugar will make it less thick after a few hours.  When I first made it, it was perfect but this morning it was not as thick.  Tasted the same yummy self though.  I was told to try mixing "Dream Whip" into it...found in grocery stores where jello and pie crusts are.

how funny- this is just sweetened whipped cream!  Wink Yum!

Adding liquid gelatin to the whipped cream after you've started whipping it will keep it stiff for several days. 

To do this, mix up one packet of knox unflavored gelatin in enough water to cover it- a couple tablespoons.  Heat gently till the gelatin has dissolved completely (dip a metal spoon in the mixture and check the back of it for little gelatin specks).  Start to whip up your whipped cream and before you reach stiff peaks, gradually pour in the liquid gelatin mixture while mixing.

This method doesn't affect the taste of the whipped cream and also stablizes it so that you can pipe it with a pastry bag, and the whipped cream will keep its detail for several days.

Easiest way is to get a tub of like Cool Whip and add a box or two of powder pudding mix. Its like a mousse. Simple chocolate mousse.... chocolate pudding mix, whipped cream, and some chocolate chips poured in a graham cracker crust. Mmmmmm! wont even take 2 minutes for a "gourmet" dessert. Or use banana pudding mix, whipped cream, and some fresh bananas.. yummmmy! Creativity is endless!

I seem to remember a few girls from Home Ec making something similar.  They whipped the cream and added icing sugar to it as they went.  It turned out very fluffy and delicious.
