My bf & I both adore Halloween.  This was our second Halloween together and also the second time I've made our costumes.  Last year we went as the Queen of Hearts and the Mad Hatter.  This year I got it in my head that I wanted to be a Ninja Turtle so I convinced him that I could pull off a rad Shredder.

Unfortunately I had such an insane week at work that I was working on our costumes right up until the last minute which meant I didn't get great pictures of our whole costume.

I forgot to put on my shell in this picture! :/

Another angle.

Close up of my stomach.  I stenciled the gold six pack onto a green shirt I picked up cheap.  The buckle was made with paper mache.  Mask and red bands were made from scratch.  I loved the way the mask turned out!

The shell was paper mache, covered in fabric and then painted.  Also reinforced it inside with cardboard and packing bubbles.  It held up increadibly well!

I sewed his cape and shirt from inexpesive fabric we picked up.  His helmet and armour were made from reinforced felt which we spray painted silver.  His costume was definitely the hit of the night!  Everyone wanted their picture taken with him.

I had a blast with my costume too!

We're already looking forward to next year!

The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese. . . . I would rather have cheese.

I'm sure I'll wear from time to time. Smiley  I enjoyed having a six-pack for the night.
