Flowerhead Part 2: Flower Hair

I couldn't sleep last night after watching Mushi-shi because it is so beautiful and keeps me thinking. I was practicing drawing the faces I saw on the screen and decided to make a painting based off of a sketch. I wanted to hair the hair turn into something new... At first I started with fish then it changed to flowers. I also wanted to practice using a bit more natural colors.

I am not sure why I love looking at flowers so much. But this painting makes me smile.

i love it!  totally reminds me of mushi-shi (love that anime, btw)  the colors really flow well.

Thanks! I was trying something different. I want to eventually be able to make realistic looking anime characters... I guess I mean more  three dimensional.

I really like this - especially the way the colours from the flowers are also in the character's eyes.  I actually think fish would also make an awesome image 

Mushi-shi is pretty much awesome.

I think I will try a fish one tonight if I can make enough time for it. Thanks for noticing about the eyes. I wanted them to really pop like they do in some scenes of the show.
