In case any one is wondering, the hoop is blue - I dyed it blue using food colouring! I think it worked really well - it's something I've done with wooden lolly/ice block sticks before and it worked well then and they seem to be colourfast.

yes straight forward food colouring with some water. I made it strong - so say 2 teaspoons of food colouring to enough water to cover the hoop in a flat bottomed container large enough to have the hoop sitting flat on the bottom. I suppose you would adjust the mixtue depending on the intensity that you wanted. I left it to soak for 3-4 hours and then fished it out and left it on newspapers to dry, depending on how warm it is weather/heating wise, should dry overnight. I found that the side that was down/on the bottom to dry was a little darker, but that just gives you 2 shade choices when you put the hoop on. I didn't bother dying the inside of the hoop as it is not seen.

pioneer9 received a few days ago but doesn't have a camera so here's what I sent. She wanted one not-too-large Tree of Life pendant but since it was not-too-large, I went ahead and sent two.



Left is turquoise and right is green aventurine. You can see by the quarter that they're more petite.
