Oh my goodness, there were so many Marios on Halloween! BUT None of the ones I saw looked as good (read: authentic) as ours, and none of them had Peach or Toadette or even Luigi for that matter. What the heck, guys?
First off, their overalls are blue because they are DENIM people, come on...

For my boys I made their hats and their mustaches. That's all. But you don't really need to make much for those two, right?

I couldn't really get a good pic of Toadette. I made her pants and shirt from a McCall's pattern. I crocheted her hat using a generic slouchy hat pattern with some generic balls for her braids or whatever she has. I stuffed it with polyfil and used the sleeve of a shirt sewn into a head shape to keep the stuffing in. I think it came out pretty rad. For her vest I just traced a shirt of hers onto some red fabric and used that for the pattern.
She was awesome! Her costume was my favorite. (Yes, Toadette is a real character, and yes some of the younger kids at the Trunk-or-Treat we went to actually knew who she was without being told!)

I know, that's not an authentic Peach pose. Bah.
For MY costume, I made the dress from a pattern that I altered slightly. I think it was a Queen of Hearts dress with long sleeves? Yeah, and I made the crown and I made the jewel on the front of the dress, attached with some hot-glue on a safety pin.
And this lady I know has everything in her, like she really has built 3 more buildings just to keep all the stuff she has in (all of your craftsters would die of joy if you were given the option of rummaging, I'm sure) and she happened to have
-my husband's overalls
-a crinoline
-and a PINK UMBRELLA! Holy cow!
I'm not kidding, so much stuff. If only I'd thought of visiting her before I shopped for ANY of it...
I forgot!

G even made the candy box and carved the pumpkins to match our theme!
