I finally got pics from my friend in her costume I made!! yay!!

So my friend was planning on going to a music themed Halloween party, and needed a seam stress. Well, being completely unemployed, I told her I could help. Her plan was to be lil kim circa 1999 VMA's.

Yep, The purple boob hanging out get up. My friend is about 5 foot 8, white and blonde. The epicness of this plan did not escape me!

I am still awaiting a picture of her in the costume from the party, but these are the work in progress pics/creation pics

She picked up an AWFUL bridesmaid/prom dress from the thrift store for $7 and it was the perfect color, which we couldn't find anywhere, so it was kismet. I just wish I had gotten a before pic of the dress!!

I drafted a pattern off her measurements (since I am PRETTY SURE McCalls and Vogue don't make a boob baring jumpsuit pattern, though I could be wrong!)

I drafted and sewed then fitted, and this was what I got (sorry the pic sucks)

Pretty darn sexy.

Since we couldn't find a good sparkle-rific fabric - I decided appliqu  would be the best method. So we purchased some fab confetti fabric in silver, cut out some seashell like shapes (which is what covers Lil Kim's get-up) and I puff painted the hell outta them. LOTs of them. Like 60.

Then, each and every one of those suckers had to be hand stitched onto that sexy jumpsuit. I placed them in a slightly spiraling pattern to make it more awesome. I sewed sequin trim around the "neckline" or what have you and the wrists. then I started on the Shells
this is the first row

Then came the pasty. My friend's biggest concern was losing it (understandably) and so I constructed an over sized burlesque style pasty out of foam, as it sticks to skin the best when attached with eyelash glue. As in WAY over sized, like 7+ inches across

Took one of my handy dandy puff painted seashells and glued it on

cut it out and added more puff paint! The paint is still wet here.

The jumpsuit was awesome and complete

And I think even in detail it looked hot!

Now all I need is a pic of my lovely (and gutsy!) friend in it. She has promised to send me some shots! I hope she does so soon! Smiley
