Who's interested in a Winter Holiday's version of the Canadian small envelope swap?
Yes, we are *just* finishing the first, but this is an easy one!

Details of swap:
This swap is for us Canadians!  The idea sprouted from the American 44cent swap (thanks lovesclutter for that bit of brilliance!).  This is our take on it!  Send 1 envelope, within country, Filled with crafted items, supplies, bits bobs, and any other crafty goodies you can possibly think of!  The only parameters I am setting are this: at least one item must be crafted and Your envelope must be NO BIGGER THEN  245mmx156mm (standard letter) OR 235mmx120mm (card)
I am allowing stuffing of that envelope until it could possibly burst (though I wouldn’t recommend that. Could you imagine the havoc craft supplies could reek on the machines at the post office?!  And how tragic would that be for your partner, never mind the post office!) Also note that you may have to end up paying parcel (so, like 10$+ vs. 1-2$) if you way over stuff it and it wont get there very quickly either.
The contents must be Winter/Winter holiday related!  Kwanzaa, Christmas, Solstice, Hanukkah, and any others I'm unaware of.

I'm thinking Sign ups will be around Nov 24- Dec 1, give or take a few days, with send outs being around the 10th or 15th?
Punctuality when sending would be important to this one, as this swap will be during the holiday backlog at the Post Office.  And what fun would it be to get your holiday envelope after the holiday's are over?  Not very Smiley   And yes. Hanukkah is the 1-9th and that is cutting it very close, but it's still very do-able to have an envelope this size out in a few days!

Any interest?

Looking for Mccalls 6337 sewing pattern, if you have a copy you'd be willing to share/give/sell please let me know.  The bag costs $60 and I think perhaps I could make it cheaper/

Hmmm....I don't really do the winter holidays. I mean, I celebrate Christmas with my family, but I don't go in for all the santas and reindeers and elves and snowflakes and such. I'll definitely do a non holiday round though if there's one in the new year.

the super awesome thing about this swap is it is totally doable with stash stuff, and if you don't go crazy over stuffing it, it only costs around 1-2$ to send! woo!

Same here... we don't really *do* Christmas (decorations and hoopla) in my house either.  But I'd be interested in a Canadiana winter, non-holiday version of this swap after the holidays.  Like, in February, when we all need a pick-me-up.   Smiley

Oh yes. There will be another one sometime in the new year for sure!
Or.... Really, if there is interest in this one as not Winter holiday related, and I give it as an option to send a holiday envelope or a non holiday envelope, would you people who don't want to because of the holiday label possibly join?

I'm in!

I think when the questionaire goes out that the question of celebration comes into play.

~Do you celebrate a holiday in December, if so, which one?
If you answered no, would you rather swaping with a winter theme instead?

Hows that to kill two birds with one stone metiphorically speaking! lol

I could be in for this kinda swap. No aversion to holidays here. Winter or holiday a nice quick swap would be great since winter struck here on Halloween. Tongue

Is there any particular reason you have to wait?  If you started S/U early, there could be more crafting time or earlier send outs... I've never organized a swap though, so I have no idea what the process is like.   Wink

I was going wait because I *just* finished the first one, and I didn't want the swap to eventually peeter out (kinda like the Monthly odd holiday) because of overload.   And I also don't want the wait between this one and the next to be too long, because it's fun, and quick and easy, and I can be impatient, as I'm sure lots of people can be... And finally, I'd like to see how many more Canucks come out of the woodworks, so this swap can be a full one too.
And also, I really should concentrate on crafting for the bazaar in town.
So, we wait. probably 12 days.  I'm thinking the 20th would be a good sign up start date.
