At first glance I thought it was a Chocobo from Final Fantasy.  Maybe I'll have to make one of those next year.
I love your ostrich costume, though and I'll bet it was tons of fun to run in!

Oh, How I love this! I'd bet it made the run a joy to watch!

Saw a commercially produced ostrich rider costume a couple months ago and thought, "What a great idea; I should be able to make something like that myself."  Then I realized how long it would take me to figure out how to design and and make it.

What a treat to see that someone with greater perseverance than I (and fantastic crafting skills to boot) actually did it, and did it so well -- wonderful work, hardyjenni!

(PS: The commercial costume isn't stuffed, but rather made of polyester fabric with a battery operated fan that inflates the whole thing, including the legs -- fun, but nowhere near as elegant a creation as yours!)

This is so totally awesome.  The idea is funny, the costume is excellent & I bet it was so fun to run in it for the race.  Coolest costume ever!  Any videos of you running in the costume?

Want to learn to crochet or knit?  I have a ton of extra crochet hooks & circular knitting needles.  Will throw in some pattern books and yarn for anyone interested in a swap.
