SO my husband and I this year went as Dr. Horrible and Captain Hammer from "Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog." After looking on the internets, I discovered lots of people dress up as Dr. Horrible, but everyone has a terrible time trying to find his coat that buttons across the shoulder and along the side. I guess someone makes custom replicas for like $100 and I was like, pfffft, I can do that! (which is what I always say, sometimes regrettably!) Anyways, I didn't have a pattern of any kind and have never made anything like it before, so I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Fits me like a glove and drapes quite nicely. I also made the t-shirt hammer emblem for the captain. THe pics aren't the best, though and I'm sorry for that!

Some detail of the front and back.

p.s. the gloves I got at the hardware store and the goggles are just welding goggles online from amazon. So its only partially made by me obviously.

So good! My daughter (3 1/2 yr.) wanted to be Captain Hammer for Halloween, and I was overjoyed. Until a week went by, then she decided to be a princess. Oh to go back to that blessed week when I thought I was raising a cool girl. Alas.
You did a fantastic job!
Way to go!
