Sounds like a post for the dessert board!
I'm SOOOO proud of myself for finishing my costume on time! I made everything except the tights (Which were impossible to find btw)

The full view

The dress was made from my own pattern....its fairly simple and based off of the lolita style dresses... but its my very first time making my own pattern! I was super stoked!!!
Its hard to tell but the fabric is actually red with little white dots, its a quilting cotton from Joann's.
This was also my first time putting pipping in!

In fact the only two fabrics I bought for this project were the red for the dress and the strawberry print for the hat! Everything else, including the tulle for the pettiskirt was from my stash!! Yay for stash busting!!

For whatever reason it was REALLY difficult to find a good strawberry print...this one actually has a pale lavender background (was looking for pink or white) but it still works with ALL that red
The hat is a basic mop cap. I took two 20 inch circles sewed them together and put elastic in 2 inches from the edge...nice and easy!

I'm pretty proud of my pettiskirt (which very vaguely follows a tutorial http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=354025.0) but tulle is a major pain to cut into anything resembling straight!! so i suggest using the fabric they recommend. But my serger came in super handy for putting the layers together!
Sorry for the craptasticness of this pic, the camera was misbehaving so I had to use my phone...at night  Tongue

And a reference shot

So everyone knew who I was which I was a little worried about, AND I won Best Costume at the Halloween party!! YAY!!
I'm also thinking that if I throw a red hooded cape on I can go as Little Red Riding Hood!

Thanks for looking!!

Very cute! She was my childhood idol. I still have a soft spot for her. Nice work finding those stockings, I'm sure they were hard to track down. Cheesy

Thanks! A friend of our family used to call me that when I was little, so it seemed like an appropriate costume Smiley

Great job making it so realistic.

I'm going to use your pictures as inspiration for my Strawberry Cosplay Costume.
