I think Troublet is going to take a stab at making my girl a bearded lady for the holidays.  Grin

Those beards are hilarious!

Thanks Ptarmic!!  Lana will love it.  Right now my mail is funny....some pieces have been misdelivered...thank goodness not the quilt and hopefully not this coat.  I have asked the post office to hold my stuff, but they are still making mistakes...a stapled together package with Lana's tights showed up on my porch before the postwoman made her delivery yesterday.  Ugh.

I could probably make one beard hat. But I don't think I can do the latch hooked hair type one. But I probably have just enough time to finish a hat if it's the flat beard style. Maybe 2.
If someone still needs one pm me and I'll see what I can do! I want more points. lol

atsuko, I can send ups if that would be better - it is actually easier for me and about the same price.

Off to cut up some sweaters!

Troublet is going to make Justin's and loudxmouse is going to make Owen's.  Cool Yay!

I just found this basic tutorial that shows the how to make a simpler felt beard.
http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2009/10/how-to_make_a_fake_beard.html
I think this is the same type of shape that is used to make the bushy yarn beards. I'm not sure how the yarn would be applied to make the bushy ones, but I think you could use a hairpin lace tool, wind yarn around it, and stitch  it down, working in rows. I have an idea in my head about that, but no hairpin lace tool.

::rummages around internet::

Something like this tool here, but instead of sewing the yarn together on the tool itself, machine-sewing it directly onto the felt, then slipping the tool out, and adding more  wound yarn until done. I think you would have to start at the outer edge of the felt base, and work your way in with additional rows until you get to the top of the beard.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be closing my shop probably tomorrow night, we are going out of state for Thanksgiving, and won't be back until the 28th! So, if you have your eye on anything, I would ship it out Monday or Tuesday of this week.  Smiley
