I feel that Halloween is seriously lacking traditional monsters, so this year I made my own mummy costume. Generally I'm very happy with it, but if i planned to wear it more than once or twice, I would have put more into it. I made the body from some scrap white t-shirts I got as a sympathy prize from some bar trivia. All the "bandages" are made from thin cotton strips. They are actually from the fabric on the sides of mattress pads (I was making some animal carrier covers from the quilted part of the mattress pads). The arms and legs are each separate "sleeves" that I cut up and sewed along one seam. There is no elastic, I just kind of pushed them up as far as I could and prayed that they stayed (which they kind of did). I made a couple longs strips to wrap around my head, and they mostly stayed up, too. It only took a few hours to make, and since all the fabric was given to me it cost $0! Sorry there aren't any better pictures, but I was wearing a jean jacket most of the night b/c it was cold Sad. If I want to wear this again, I'll probably tea stain it. The picture is poor quality (yay phone pix!) but I did black cat eye make-up to be a more egyptian mummy. I felt that it needed a little extra something.  Grin

C&C welcome! Hope you all had a splendid Halloween!
