This was my contribution to the Embroidery Hoopla Swap Rd. 2. My partner has already received and posted pictures, so now I can put this here! It took me about three days of on and off working. The filling is satin stitched with 6 strands of floss, his eyes and nose are backstitched with 3 strands, his mouth and all the outlining is split stitch, and the stitch on his hat band is close herringbone stitch, which didn't come out quite as well as I'd hoped, but this is also like only my second time embroidering anything either.
Whew, what a run-on sentence! Anyway, here ya go!

The dots in the background are marker; they're there because I accidentally got some glue spots on the hoop from sealing up the back. FAIL. ...but I'm happy they didn't detract too much from the overall quality of the hoop.

I thought the dots were actually part of the background cause they kinda match Smiley Just tell people they were intentional and run with it...

I love this!  You are my hero!  Not only is Prof Layton one of my favorite video game characters, but you've done an amazing job on the satin stitch.  Wonderful job!

I thought the dots were intentional too, but don't worry. Your secret is safe with me. Wink I'm horrible at logic/puzzle games, but the Professor Layton series intrigues enough to try (and to look up the answers online Grin). Way to go on finishing your second embroidery project. It looks terrific. Smiley
