It helped, Scribble Kitty! It helped me figure out the fit, how much gathering to put on top (don't want it to be too poofy in the armpits), length of the lace, etc. It was annoying to do all that work and then actually start the real thing, but it was worth it.

Only one complaint from me:  Never say "homemade"  cookies are homemade, couture is "HANDMADE"  Sewing lovely things is an art not a craft.

Nice distinction, I shall use it in the future.
