Looks gorgeous and it's simple but elegant so you could easily wear it again.

This is positively amazing, I have the same problem with cutting occasional corners and want to make the same vow with my own dress. Thanks so much for the inspiration!

That lace is so beautiful, as is the whole dress. It looks fantastic on you.

Did the mock up help you any do you feel like you just wasted time making that one first?

Lovely! And congratulations! You are one brave lady. I would NEVER let my cat near my wedding dress lace.

I'm looking for Simplicity 6340 (the 1970's sailor dress). PM me if you've got a copy to swop or sell! Cheesy

It helped, Scribble Kitty! It helped me figure out the fit, how much gathering to put on top (don't want it to be too poofy in the armpits), length of the lace, etc. It was annoying to do all that work and then actually start the real thing, but it was worth it.

Only one complaint from me:  Never say "homemade"  cookies are homemade, couture is "HANDMADE"  Sewing lovely things is an art not a craft.

Nice distinction, I shall use it in the future.

Aye, she got a restraining order pretty early in the game.  Smiley
