I wasn't sure if I like needlepunch or not til I got my hoop from muddy21, now I know that I love it.

Well, I wish I could claim credit for needlepunching, but it's really just some very fluffy, nubbly yarn in variegated greens from JoAnn's (called "Sensations - Rainbow Boucle - a soft and versatile, tonal boucle") that's just laid on the surface in zigzags, then couched http://inaminuteago.com/stitchdict/stitch/couching.html with olive green embroidery floss.

Here's a photo that might show the shiny bits that make it look like a starry night...

and one that shows the texture of the mossy ground a bit more clearly perhaps...

We still have plenty of hoopy goodness to come in this round but if you're already itching for more, Round 3 is open!

Tempted...but promised myself to not join any more swaps until after the holidays. Maybe I can catch you all in round 4.

Me too! I'm soooo tempted! But alas, I've got too many presents to make, and precious few days to finish... Back surgery in 3 weeks!!! I'll stalk the gallery, though. I won't be able to do much else!

muddy21, sorry I misrepresented your work  Cheesy.  I would have sworn that was needlepunch.  You did such a wonderful job on the whole thing.  I'm pretty sure I've looked at it 50 times today alone.

Muddy21 must have some secret stash of awesome fabric in her house, because that hoop is gor-gess! Even the ones she chose for my hoop last round are sweet, with some sparkly bits as well.

I especially like the outdoors shot of the hoop that show the greens of the moss. I've thought about trying couching, and now I might since it adds so much texture.

Hi, pugwash!  You probably recognize the moon fabric - it's the same as the underlayer of the wings of your luna moth.  Wink  One of the best things about this swap is that it's flexible enough to allow for all different sorts of techniques.

PS  I got a whole skein (853 yards!) of the green yarn for the moss so if anyone wants a bit to play with, just PM me and I'll share.  I'm thinking I might try learning to crochet because it's wicked soft and feels like it would make a wonderfully snuggly scarf!

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.
