So for (Canadian) thanksgiving this year I wanted to bring something sweet to my family dinner. So I decided on cookies cause they are super fun to bake. I thought I'd be festive so I made them pumpkin shaped.

Don't they look tasty?

They are simple sugar cookies with flood icing. I really just wanted to decorate something.
The main difficulty was the pumpkin shaped cookie cutter. I couldn't find one, so I decided to make one Smiley

My housemates tell me that they were really tasty Cheesy

Very cute - and I love the shape of the cookie cutter!  Did the frosting harden?  I've been looking for something other than royal icing that won'tget all smudgey - but the old meringue & powdered sugar seem to be the only recipes out there.

I made the cookie cutter out of an old pie tin. and I just folded over the sharp edges. it took about 4 of the pieces cause each one was pretty short.

It did get hard, but it took a few hours for it to dry. I made flood icing. I just had to wait between colours so that they wouldn't blend. Flood icing uses corn syrup as well as icing sugar which gives it the right consistency and stops it from being too runny
