I don't need any encouragement to be nice. The designs and the final product are so impressive! The color schemes and the styles themselves are sweet!

Wow, congrats to your daughter on the awesome ideas and sewing and kudos to you for going with it. What a cool mom and visionary daughter and supportive dad. You guys make a great team!

I agree that there was no need to ask anyone to keep it sweet - your daughter has a fantastic eye for design, both putting together fabrics and flattering shapes and cuts. The color, by the way, is just perfect for her, and I think your husband picked the perfect dress for ya'll to make. Emily - I'm looking forward to seeing you on PR one of these days, keep it up!

How fantastic! She puts some of the Project Runway designers to shame! I love the dress, and she looks lovely in it. Hope you might try some of Emily's other designs as well one day... I'd love to see the ruffle top on craftster is you and she ever decide to give it a go.

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts and encouragement.  Emily has been stoked with the response. We might just have to have another go at this, it was super fun!

I love Emily's drawings!  They have so much movement and life to them, I love it Smiley  Awesome job Emily, I'm 28 and still too scared to make clothes Cheesy

I'm very impressed. At first I was worried that a dress drawn on a willowy, stylized model might look silly on a real life ten-year-old, who y'know, doesn't have legs that make up 7/8 of her height, but it's adorable on her!

I'm looking for Simplicity 6340 (the 1970's sailor dress). PM me if you've got a copy to swop or sell! Cheesy

i agree with all said --but i really am amazed!!! Emily should be so proud!! In total honesty, her designs were waaay better than many "grown-ups" and the actual dress turned out terrific!!!! Lips sealed you actually drew something and then had it turn out the way you imagined --and it looks great on her! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
(and i'm a mom of 3 and quite grown-up Wink)
