Its awesome! Perfect choice of fabrics and the Prairie points look so good with it! Im almost finished with mine- its got the quilting on it and now I just have to do the binding. Then I can finally update my post 9 months later Wink oh and I have 2 girls and would love this for either of them!

I love those points! I'll have to make one for my baby, he'd go nuts for it. Great work!

I think it's very neutral and very lovely.  Beautiful combination of colours, and I love the binding and the praire points - great job.

http://www.dognamedbanjo.com/2008/07/23/bernina-440-qe-walking-foot/

I googled and found a blog that kind of explains a walking foot for you. It is totally different than the regular foot. I LOVE mine and I use it for attaching binding as well as quilting and bag making- pretty much anything but free motion quilting.

You certainly seem to be doing fine without one- this quilt looks very professional! I like the colors- I make a fair amount of quilts for baby gifts and no one wants fussy/girly quilts anymore. Neutral is so trendy. (I kinda like the girly-girly stuff, myself, but I have two boys.) Anyway, it's perfect and I know the new mom is going to love it.

Oh I love this.  Love the sticking-up triangles, love the colours.  Everything is so compositionally well-balanced.  A+!

Thanks so much! And thanks for the info! I believe that is what was automatically on my sewing machine, which has all of three knobs and no fancy stitches...I wish I could figure out how to take it off so I can free motion...Maybe that will be my next project! Smiley

What a wonderful quilt! Your friend is lucky to have someone like you who is willing to make such a beautiful heirloom for her baby. Does not look too boyish and is just a gorgeous quilt.
