Baubles for your tree....or anywhere!

Here are three ornaments/baubles that I made today. They are inspired by kit on Gail Crosman Moore's website. The kits are kind of pricey and you don't get nearly enough embellishments for the pieces and the wool ball (you only get one, though the pictures show multiples) is only about 1.5 centimeters.
I had some wool balls left over from a jewelry project and lots of findings so I decided to do some really lush ones.
The biggest ball is about three centimeters or the size of a nice fat cherry tomato!









The findings are raw brass stampings that I enameled using fingernail polish and all the little tiny beads are those glass micro beads you can get at Michaels. I've been
playing with them and finding lots of different places to hang them.......lamp switches, curtain tie backs, chandeliers, off of shelf finials and of course, down the road, they would make awesome tree ornaments. I plan on giving some as Christmas presents.

Those are wonderful.  They seem kind of summer faerie to me.

Yes, they could be.    I think that is why I like calling them baubles.....they can be for anything!

I got the raw brass stampings online from Vintage Jewelry Supply. They were painted with regular finger nail polish enamel I got on sale.

Thank you so much JCDillustration! It's really nice to be able to do something that looks really pretty for less than what you would pay for the kit. I really like Gail's art.....she does beautiful things, but I was so disappointed when I received the kit, I felt like I had to do something!

Oh My Goodness!!!! These are absolutely gorgeous!!

I wish I had time and money to make a few this year. The good news is now I am one step ahead for next year! I will have all year to find jewelry-making supply bargains and collect stuff to make these beautiful baubles.
