hello folks,
I have not used my sewing machine for 2 years, well....
I have done the bobbin and threaded the needle
I got a scrap piece of material to check its sewing.....and it wont
I hope you understand this (novice)
the needle is doing its thing but the bobbin and the needle are not working, as in making the stiches even though they are working  Huh
I am just getting needle holes and no stitches
please can a kindly soul remind me why and what have I dont wrong

Is the thread slipping out of the needle as you start to sew? (that's happened to me before)

yes started to do that last night, after I rethreaded with new cotton and bobbin with the same cotton  Sad

If that's what it's doing, it helps to hang on to the thread until you've sewn a couple stitches -- that way it can't slip out of the needle. Smiley

thank you I will try that today,
I have been intouch with my local sewing machine shop, and a service is £25 plus parts....so I will try your advice today, plus have it serviced as the tension spring may have 'gone' said the lady at the shop. Smiley
