(New sewer)
What is the purpose of this part? I can't find it in my manual. Sorry its a crappy pic.  All I know is, I can pull down on that white tab thing and there is a metal piece that goes towards the needle hole.

its the needle threader when you pull it down a tiny hook goes through the hole in the needle put the thread on the hook and slowly bring the white piece back up and it will pull the thread back through the hole in the needle...i hope that helped the needle threader on my machine is a lifesaver with my bad eyes!!
