This scarf is the first of my christmas gift knits. The pattern used was the Annis shawl from Knitty (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEss10/PATTannis.php), but I only had one skein of Noro Silk Garden Sock, so I had to modify it to be more of a scarf than a shawl.

This was the first time I've used Noro yarn cause it's so expensive, but I loved working with it.

Work in progress (the pattern starts with the lace, then uses short rows of stockinette stitch to create the curved shape:

Mmmm.. Noro! I have a skein of Silk Garden sock in my stash that's calling for a good project. I may have to look into this pattern.

Yours turned out gorgeous! I can't believe you're going to be willing to part with it for a gift! Wink

I second this! Very beautiful and I have definitely admired this pattern, but don't think I'd have the patience to make those nupps.

You're a very generous knitter for giving this away as a gift!  But I bet whoever you're knitting it for will really love it and be super happy about it  Grin

Noro is so beautiful - and I love it used on that scarf.  I have Annis on my to do list too, but I like how it is reworked as a scarf, not a shawl.  Great idea.

If anyone is swapping with me & happens to see any of the Pickup Trucks Forever stamps on their mail - please pop them in the package for me - my hubby would love them!  Huge pre-emptive thanks
