Hey everyone!
This is my first attempt at wet felting! I'm taking a course on how to do it in 2 weeks and wanted to try first, so I read up on the process and made some leg warmers! They are really warm and I like how they turned out!

I wish the shapes were more defined but I think I didn't make the prefelts strong enough (only 2 layers) and didn't make the shapes exaggerated enough before they shrunk, but overall a cool effect I think...

Here is the size of the template vs. the size of the finished product...

Layer of wool 1

Layer of wool 2

After wetting and starting the felting

Starting the fulling process...

After a bit of fulling and removing the relief I have a giant seamless leg warmer

Half an hour of hand fulling...

and ta da!

Perfect for the fall weather!!!

Any comments welcome, especially for experienced felters! I'm really enjoying the process.......

I've never felted so I can't offer any advice but I think your leg warmers are gorgeous.  Really great job!!  I love the free flow of the flowers and the squiggles around them.  A good friend of mine took a few years of felting at a textiles school and your stuff looks very similar to hers.

It is exhausting! But very satisfying, I've found if I spread it over 2 days it is much more enjoyable than trying to get a project finished in 1 day

since they are "famous" (as famous as one gets in the felting world) you aren't allowed to video or photograph, but I promise to share anything I learn through my own work and tutorials!

I haven't seen many wet-felted things, and the few I've seen have always seemed too heavy for my taste, but yours looks really delicate and feminine.  <3  I love the look of them!  Everyone hould be wearing leg warmers like this for fall!

Looks like a lot of work. But it's well worth it, they look so warm and cool (whaat?) Sorry, English is not my mother tongue.. but these are really cool. I like!
