i made some pirate stationary for a craft swap, check it out:

i found a pirate image online and crafted the card text ('dead men tell no tales' on front, 'you're not dead, are ye matey?' on the inside) in adobe illustrator and printed them on cardstock. i added a red glitter embellishment on the front, used old maps to fold envelopes, and made some matching stickers.

I love them! I now have the opening song from Muppets Treasure Island in my head (not a bad thing).

I love the cards, they're fabulous, but don't ya think the maps look too new? I don't wanna be mean or rag on ya about it but whenever you want something to look old, tea staining always seems to help. I've been chopping onions today so maybe I'm a bit impaired and can't see it if you did that.

yes, i totally agree with you on that, the maps ARE too new. hum, i think i ran out of creative juice and the swap date was looming because i didn't even think about that. you know, i've never tried tea-staining (though i've heard about it) but i've still got a bunch of map leftover so i might make another version of this craft and go all out. thanks for the suggestion!
