I made this for the FOC Wist Swap for slingmomma, it is my first try at hairpin lace and the first time I ever used ribbon yarn.

it is very long

thin enough to be a nice scarf too!

I seriously want one of these! I've never heard of hairpin lace before. Did you use a tute?

I used this pattern and I went online and googled haripin lace and watched some videos on how to do it. Joining the strips are a little awkward and finishing the ends but it sure does make a beautiful finished product!

Your shawl looks lovely, and your joins are great! I'm sure slingmomma will love it.

Was working with the ribbon yarn ok? I wondered about using it for the hairpin lace shawl I'm making at the moment but I was worried about it twisting too much and being too stretchy. I'm ever so slightly obsessed with hairpin.

the ribbon yarn I used was 100% rayon, no stretch, I can't wait to use what I have left for something else, it is so pretty and cloth like, not yarn like, love it!
