Long-time lurker (and admirer of y'all's work), finally de-lurking to show something I made for a new bag.  I thought about putting this in bags, but I guess it really is more of a trinket.

I just got this bag, which has the right size and organization for what I need, but it needs a little sumthin-sumthin, ya know?  (and interestingly enough, this designer usually has WAY too much bling for my taste)

I was inspired by this site to make a bag charm (scroll down):

http://psimadethis.com/

So I set about making a little bling for it, to the style of vintage (got most findings at Michael's and Joann - Michael's in particular has a great new line of "handmade found" findings, I threw the labels away already but you can't miss them):

Closer?  Ok:

I particularly wanted a working watch on it, so I wouldn't have to keep pulling me phone out to check the time (especially when traveling in airports, I keep dropping my phone).  Here's a real close-up of just the bag charms:

I can post pics of the individual findings later (this post is getting pic chubby), but they're super cool - the little boxes open, and the lantern style opened so I put some tiny beads in there.  Enjoy!   Cheesy

Ooo I like! Neat idea adding the watch, I think I need something like that so I don't have to keep getting my phone out either!

Very pretty. Smiley

I really adore the lantern style one you put beads in. Do you remember for sure where you got it so I can go search for one? (It already takes me hours to actually get what I went in for and leave at craft stores, so narrowing it down to only one store would be super helpful. Haha.)

beki, I even added one to my wristlet wallet, which is the only thing I take with me for short shopping jaunts (even tho' my phone is inside the wallet).  I must be time-obsessed.  Wait, no more like obsessed with not dropping my phone Wink

Cinnapaste, I clearly recall getting that lantern finding at a Joann's, but only the one near where I work (I got the last one) - it was on a sales rack that had been almost emptied.  I checked at the one where I live, and they didn't even have the same line of findings - I gather from this that what they offer is up to local management (I'm totally guessing here, but the 2 store's offerings were very different).  Good luck finding it!  And oh yes, the tube is actual glass.

Hmmm, alright, well thanks for the info. I'll have to look around. Maybe if I can't find that exact one I can find something similar. Smiley

Cinnapaste, I have good news - I went back to the Joann's where I found the lantern finding, and they had re-stocked it!  Not only that, they were also carrying it in antiqued silver and copper colors too - both of which I picked up while I could.  So there's hope for you yet!
