Hello! This is a very quick and easy autumn craft  Wink

After a walk in a beautiful cemetery/park here in Copenhagen, I came home with a bunch of leaves that I picked up. Their colors were beautiful, and I decided to put them in the laminating machine...they turned out great! I'm thinking of using them as place holder "cards"...

They would be cool as calling cards, and gift tags (just need to punch a hole and insert a nice string). These are some more leaves drying....I actually put paper towels under them and over them, then a layer of magazine paper, then some heavy books. For not very long, just to take some humidity out of it...

And this is how the laminated sheet looked before it was cut out.

And I hanged one by the window...you can see the trees from the square in the background. They are turning all yellow right now.

What do you think?

I really like the colours of the leaves and how they've turned out after you laminated them.

Thanks Faesissa! Now I'm curious to see if the colors will actually last long...

Thanks Faesissa! Now I'm curious to see if the colors will actually last long...

I was wondering the same thing. A while back I stumbled upon a Martha Stewart craft page where they dipped pretty fall leaves in wax and hung them in the window. Someone in the comments section mentioned that the color only lasts for a couple weeks.

I wonder if the laminating will preserve them better than wax...

At any rate, they're very beautiful. I've never seen a leaf quite like that beautiful red one! It's like a super fuzzy maple leaf!

Hi Blackie.sage, yes this is all experimental...I guess I'll re-post in a month from now with the results. And as for the the red leaf, I'm not sure what tree that is, but I'm planning to find the name for all the leaves :-)

I think they're great! You could stick them to the window or make a little mobile out of them :-)

Gorgeous! Love fall leaves, but the problem is always preserving the colour. I have laminated other organic materials i.e. flower petals and the colours always faded in a matter of days. Wish there was a way to preserve them indefinitely but I have not found it yet  Undecided
