I recently discovered craftster (I've been living under a rock, apparently) and having seen all these amazing creations you all do, I thought I would toddle on over to the sandpit and play too!!

Anyone here a fan of delicious flavour the USA network show Psych? I am a HUGE fan and after spending more than I'd care to really admit at the official Psych store (what, I totally needed that keyring, cup, pen, t-shirts and the entire series on dvd...!!) I was kind of disappointed that they didn't have any squishable merchandise (the bobbleheads don't count!) so I set about making my own.

Shawn (version 1) was the first plushie I've ever made - drafting the pattern took about a month to get to the current stage, it probably would have been easier if I'd known anything about sewing, lol! He is completely hand-sewn. I refer to them as my 'chubbi-chibi' plushies because they have quite large bodies and flimsy little legs, lol. They are sitting-only plushies (or standing-only-only-when-propped-against-something plushies. Wink)

I use materials as close in colour and texture as I can when it comes to their outfits, which is sometimes hard, especially not having much (any!) knowledge of working with fabrics like suiting material (arggghh!).
Sorry, babbling! On to the stuffed goodies!

ETA; I've lost the pics of Shawn v1, Lassie v1 and Gus, but I still have Shawn v2 and Lassie v2:

Cheesy Thank you for all the kind words, everyone!

hey!! I think they are so awesome...and those eyes!!??? Shocked are so awesome too how did you made them?? and the hair??? wich material is??? i`m a beginner too and i want to make dolls please answer me Smiley

The eyes are hand painted with plain acryllic paints. I draw the design I want up on the computer (so they're symmetrical), print them out, cut it out sort of like a stencil, trace the main lines (eye shape, pupil & iris position) onto the stuffed face and then paint them. Smiley

The hair is faux fur material. For Shawn I made a 'cap' of hair, fit it to his head then cut it into style. Lassiter's hair is a little different, I just cut the pieces out seperately and sewed them into place.

Hope that helps! Smiley

I love the style of your plushies. Are you by any chance going to share your pattern? I would love to try to make one!
