I really wish I had taken before pics of the clutter of this room before it was transformed into a nursery, but without further adieu...

I made the valance, comforter and bed skirt. We painted, sanded down the drawer/shelving and repainted all of that, filled the room with baby stuff, and now we're just waiting for her to arrive! Cheesy

I usually don't like pink but this room is gorgeous. I love what you did with it, where did you get that owl picture?

Your nursery is so cute! I love the big white shelf. I am doing a blue nursery right now Smiley I think I need more shelves in there though!
MUST FIND MORE SHELVES... LOL
I love your owl theme!

Thanks, ladies!

I got the owl art at Target in the children's bedding section!

I also love the drawer/shelf unit.  The room looks beautiful!  I know pink can be difficult to paint and I think you did a wonderful job!

That is so beautiful! I love that she will have a great potato head collection to get her started (if those are hers...) Smiley

I just have to point out that crib bumpers are no longer considered to be safe as they can restrict the air flow around babies and may be a contributing factor in SIDS.  As long as the crib is new enough the slats will be close enough together that you should be fine without the bumper.  (but aren't they so darn cute???)  Sorry to be a downer - I'm such an overprotective mom (is there any other sort?)

Enjoy dreaming about your new little one!

LOL Thanks. Wink I've already gone through the pros and cons and I'm not too worried as we will have a ceiling fan for air flow and:

Between 1985-2005 there have been 27 accidental deaths of children between the ages of 1 month and 2 years of age due to use of bumper pads in the United States. Formal investigations revealed that 11 infants likely suffocated when their face rested against the bumper pad, 13 infants died when they became wedged between the bumper pad and another object, and three infants died from strangulation by a bumper tie.

That's 1-2 deaths per year out of more than 4 million babies born per year(in the US). I think it sounds more like a freak accident than a real safety hazard. Choking to death, dying in a car accident, being hit by a car, and even getting attacked by a shark trumps the likelihood of something happening because of bumper pads.

I also plan on having the Angelcare monitor.

Thanks for all of the compliments! The shelves and drawers are built in, when we bought the house a little over a year ago I just *knew* that would be the future nursery. It's perfect storage for a baby/child!

Thanks for the good info on bumper pads!  Again - the room is so darn cute!  We have a VERY pink room in our basement (two actually) and we don't have time to paint - this gives me hope that we could make it look decent without painting...

Oh how I love what you have done with this room!
When I am a grandma, I hope to have a nursery as lovely as this.
