So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains.

I'm in the Penpal Swap, and my lovely partner sent me a little "learn-to-embroider" kit, since I shared that I would love to learn. I got the Zombies and Monsters pattern kit from Sublime Stitching and sat down and gave it a try today.
I was pretty intimidated and I really didn't expect it to go as well as it did; I haven't sewn/stitched anything other than crochet pieces in... well, I don't wanna think how long. I was very happy with my first try though. I was mostly trying to get some of the stitches down, so while they're kindly crooked and a bit messy, at least I can do some without referring to a chart now. I also played a bit with splitting the floss. I was really impressed with how "free" embroidery feels. I'm definitely gonna stick with this one!

C&C greatly appreciated and thanks for looking!!

This looks awesome! I can't believe this is the first piece you've done!

I LOVE embroidery too. Sublime Stitching has a ton of adorable projects. Really great job!

Thanks you guys! The motivation and C&C I get on here from ya'll really keeps me going sometimes when I'm hard on myself craft-wise! I can't wait to do some more and order more patterns. I REALLY need to invest in a thimble though.  Shocked
