I realize that Easter was a while ago, but I am just getting around to posting this, mostly because I am lazy.

This is my niece.  She is just about the cutest little girl ever.  As a child I had some of the most beautiful dresses made for me by my mom, grandmother and aunt, and I thought that I would continue the tradition.

I wish I had a more detailed picture, but the dress is just a basic pattern with a lace trimmed collar and the overskirt is made like an apron. It was one of my first pieces of clothing for children.  And I must say that I am rather proud of myself for getting it done on time (I finished it Saturday night  before  Easter  Smiley )

PS. I also made a little purse out of scraps, but I don't have any pictures.  Have to get her daddy to take a few.

Aw, how cute! And what a great thing to do. She's lucky to have an aunt like you. My favorite aunt used to sew our pretty dresses, too. That's why I sew now.

Absolutley adorable!!!  I love to sew children's and babies' clothes.  My son is 27 and I think I still have all the clothes I made for him when he was a baby up in the attic!!
P.S.  Most of the quilts I've made for Christmas presents were finished up on Christmas morning....    Roll Eyes

Love sewing for children! The biggest problem is that they grow faster than the outfit gets finished.
 You did a GREAT job!
