So for one of my best friend's birthday/gradutation present this year I wanted to make him something nerdy (as per usual...) and functional, preferably to use in his new dorm room. He loves Legend of Zelda (he was the recipient of my Magic Armor as well) and just bought a replica Master Sword at our first comic con so I through about making him the accompanying sheild, then decided to make a few slight modifications...

TA DA! Hyrulian Shield Cork Board!!

(ignore the cell phone quality picture)

The entire thing is made with two layers of cork (the blue and the silver) and backed with foamboard. It measures about 2x3feet and took me about, two, three days? It's not any heavier than a normal cork board either, thanks to the cork being pretty thin and the foamboard being pretty light. The pattern for the cutouts was hand drawn from a picture, and the icons are all hand painted using acrylics. The cork was painted with spray paint (oh my goodness so much! cork's so absorbent!). Other than that, I'm so happy with the results!! I only wish I had time to add a holder for the Master Sword to hang diagonally behind it like I intended. But maybe next time...haha I've already had a few requests!

Questions, Comments, Concerns, and Feedback always appreciated!!!!!
