So I thought I'd finally come out of the crafting closet and throw up one of my recent projects.  Lately I've been seeing a lot of ribbon and pearl jewelry, and also a lot of zipper accents on things.  Being a big fan of the statement necklace, I decided to combine the two and this is what I came up with: (please forgive the crazy decoupage table background)

It's a little bit stiff to use as a long necklace as it keeps wanting to turn in on itself, so I fashioned it as a choker instead, which seems to fit the natural curve of it pretty well:

I'm pretty pleased with the results, but next time I'm going to try for an even tighter weave to the contour of the pearls and see what that looks like and how it lays.

Thanks so much for looking!

I have an Etsy store now, thanks to peer pressure: http://www.etsy.com/shop/MazikeenStudios
I'm also trying to make 7 things a week for a year.  http://mazikeenstudios.blogspot.com/  (Warning: this is usually pretty behind!)

This is really pretty! I like how the pearls have a slightly similar look to the metal zipper which all contrasts with the black zipper fabric.

Great design!
I like it.
And yes, it might be a good idea to also make one where the zipper lies closer around the pearls. So that it looks like they are trapped in between.

This is awesome! Plus, it's a great way to use a broken zipper. Smiley
