Inspired by losingstreak's version of the Futurama brain slug here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=325429.0.

This was mostly guesswork and some bad maths, and so to save anyone else making three drafts and then sulking because it wasn't working, I've made a vague, poorly-constructed template for his six sections. There's no need to print it out or trace it, because it's just there to give you some idea of what shape each section should be.

The top angle of each section needs to be 60 in order for all six pieces to make 360 when they're sewn together. Aside from working out what shape each section should be, this is just stupidly easy - stitch each of the sections together, make his antennae from pipe cleaners or felt and sew through gaps in opposite seams, sit him down on a sheet of felt and trace around the bottom so you can sew his base, and attach a strip of elastic or ribbon to his underside so he sits on your head. Two concentric circles of felt for his eye, and you're all done! Just don't forget to take him off your head before you answer your door.

It is beautifully constructed.  Kind of adorable too.

That's great, I love Futurama.
I so need one of these to wear while handing out Halloween candy at my door.

Awesome! This would be so much fun to wear at my hum-drum retail job for Halloween...

I love it! Thanks for the tute, too! And I'm with kerri_mac, I'm planning on making one to wear while giving out Halloween candy this year... and possibly watching Futurama marathons.  Wink
