This is an older project I never got around to posting. I made this in the beginning of this summer. So for my friend's birthday, I decided to break out the dusty sewing machine and start making projects again. I sketched out what I wanted--something polar-bear related haha. It started out with ice, then I added the bear, then suddenly a pond and a fish. The button bird was a last minute thing because I couldn't call it a finished project unless everything looked balanced and right.

I've made a few pouches before but I had to take another peek at the tutorial in order to perfect it. I think I finally officially learned how to make a lined pouch. It turned out pretty cute so I hope my friend likes it! I used some leftover stars/moons fabric as the outside lining. Then I cut out and hand-stitched on felt pictures on top of that. I ironed on interface behind the outside lining to make it sturdier. Then I used some silky baby blue fabric for the inner lining. I machine-sewed them to the navy blue zipper inside out, and when I was done, I pulled it back through and had the finished project!

Check out a vintage wristlet I recently made! http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=360970.msg4233521#msg4233521
