When I was little, I was a flower girl. My mom made the dress. Years later she used that fabric to make a wedding dress for a large porcelain doll. I still have the doll.

I bet any American girl doll would look good in a new fancy dress!

haha, great idea! I have one from my best friend's wedding in '01. I would be fine with altering it seeing as how it's been hanging in my closet all this time (and is like 4 sizes too small at this point lol!)

Great idea! I have the corset style bodice and skirt from my sister's wedding around here somewhere. The top is lovely, but lilac...and the skirt is long and oh so boring Cheesy

I wonder if I could still get either on Roll Eyes

Last month a few friends and I took a married girls trip away and took our old brides maids dresses along.  We did a wreck the dress photo shoot with my camera as a fun trip memory thing.  It was a blast and took care of those dresses for us Smiley  We are planning another wreck the dress for our next trip!

this is a link to the photos we did.

I'm so glad other people are interested. This was thrown out as an idea for a challenge idea on the RRR board, but thought it was so clever and fun sounding, that I wanted to submit it on the Craftster Challenges board. It would be awesome if we do it one of these months! Maybe it would make a fun springtime challenge?

Just a reminder folks that this is in the "suggestions" folder and hasn't been chosen as a challenge yet.

I have an olive dress (that my sister swore was "fern" colored) and a bright red one.  I would love to keep the bodice of the red one, but could see doing something holiday-themed with the rest.  Hmmmmm... *thinking cap on*.
