i want to embroider my pet from a picture--help!

I want to embroider something from a photograph--specifically a picture of my puppy dog.


Is there an easy way to make an embroidery pattern from a photograph??

Any help would be great!!

Okay, that is just too adorable! I would say start with a black and white copy of the picture and then outline it with a sharpie or if you access to software, change it into line art.

I would do it the way kittykill suggested, other then that you can always turn the picture into a cross stitch pattern and just do a picture that way.

If you're willing to push your own skills, you could give silk shading a shot. It looks magnificent in real life and the way the light catches it really gives the picture movement. If you aren't up for silk, try satin stitching with floss (make sure you only use one strand though!) and maybe use padded sating stitch for things like the nose or ears to give it a bit of dimension.
