I thought I was going to be able to resist this swap, but I totally couldn't, so I'm way in! I'm half Jewish, so I have a menorah as well as a tree. Anyone feel like having a challenge and doing steampunk Channukah stuff for extra ornaments, I'll gladly personal swap with you too! :-D

Also, looking at this pattern is getting my gears turning (ack, pun) for snowflake ornaments and garland for my tree. What do you guys think?

I've made a few before, but that was back when I sort of sucked at crocheting so they came out pretty bad... I should make some more, they might come out better now!

Also, welcome to the swap!

Oh, I forgot to say that we got mentioned in the Craftster blog post about Steampunk that just came out!

I'd so like to do this but I'm wondering about the ornaments breaking in delivery.  One of my items broke in the mail that I sent to my partner once and I was a little upset by it.  Of course, that was overseas, so who knows, I guess.  Does sending via UPS or FedEx increase the chances of your package arriving safely?

I just submitted my questionnaire! I'm very much looking forward to this swap - the hubby and I are already brainstorming, and I think we've come up with the perfect idea!

Personally, I've never had anything break in transit (unless you count something coming unglued, but I just need better glue I think) and the only real tip I have is bubble wrap. Lots and lots of bubble wrap! Oh, and try to use a slightly larger box than you think you should, that way it has squishing room. Beyond that, if you're really worried, try to make it out of something that can't break or is really hard to break. Also, customs is never nice with our packages... you can request to not send overseas if you'd rather do that too. Come join!

Yay! I can't wait for it to start!

I can't wait to get started either!
I think today I shall try to find a used toaster oven for baking clay...or should I stop being neurotic and just use the one I use for food? Thoughts?
