I love fall with all of it's color and bounty. The animals are preparing their nests for the upcoming cold weather and the plants giving their all for one last harvest.
This is my first applique work and I am inordinately proud of it. I made it a slipcover for one of our many pillows.
The blue back ground is a polyester linen scrap and was to be thrown out at the local craft store until I asked for it. There were what looked like grease stains and it was oddly cut, making it unsalable. The grass was to meet the same fate.
Of course, for any sunflower, you need seeds in the head for the birds to feast on.
All birds need feet to hop about on or stand below sunflowers to eat the seeds.
