TSM, do you ever fry chicken?  When I have leftover buttermilk in the house, I soak chicken in it overnight then shake the pieces in a paper bag that contains flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, cayenne and dill then fry it up.

YUM! And, I think the buttermilk cornbread recipe ought to make it into the STS cookbook!  For our next professional development day, I am proposing a chili cook-off!  I would like to make buttermilk cornbread to go with it!

I made a slipper sock but it turned out very narrow.  Anyone out there were a size 8 narrow foot who wants slipper socks?  If not, I think I will frog and start again.  If so, I'll make a second to match.

Still unpacking here.  Love your new table, lxm!  I have my parents' 1950's table -- it's the one I grew up with.  I am thinking it's time to let it go and the fact that you love the one you've landed makes me think someone may love this one as well.

It's foggy, rainy and cold here today.

I'm checking all the claims that come in to me to make sure that all of the organizers were sent a copy , but we are unable to credit the claims that we don't see.....  I think that copying and pasting the names is the best way to go if you are having issues.  It seems to be just the new pms that have this issue, quoting a previous claim to all recepients seems to be working fine.

mmmmm...cornbread

that is crazy! here you can find these super cheap "jiffy mixes" for 25c i think. the price is always absurdly cheap on them anyway. They are probably not THE tastiest, but they work really well in a pinch. http://www.jiffymix.com/products.php

That was my first thought, too, LxM!

Oh, and congrats on the nifty table!  My SIL inherited a kitchen table w/chairs when her grandmother passed on, and it's a really great set, and sturdy!

The autofill is acting funky, you may have to try to type in the names a few times before you have success.

The text has gone giant for me as well.  Unfortunately its the weekend, so hopefully these problems will be resolved once Monday rolls around Smiley

eta:  I just read on the thread about this that copy and paste works with the names Smiley

I discovered the glitch when I started sending PMs to match up partners in the MYB swap yesterday
morning -- started to flip out thinking that I could not get in touch with my swappers!
But then I started cutting/pasting their names & all was well (at least I *think* they all got
their messages)
Funny how we need the stability that auto-fill gives   Grin

i just updated my shop, too.  i made too many hats for xmas presents, so i'm posting them here, along with some fun gift tags and knitting patterns:

there are tons of cute hats in my shop--they would make great stocking stuffers!

Your hats are all lovely ORB. Smiley

I've been crafty but not for my shop this weekend. I've done a couple of swap pieces and now I'm working on a Christmas gift for my son which is super tricky because he has to know what I'm doing and where I am constantly. I'll be waiting until he goes to bed to really make some progress on it.

I'm still looking for princess girly hair clips for my daughter's stocking! Smiley

Been busy this weekend making a lot of split pea soup, ham & bean soup.  Put up 21 quarts of bean soup and 7 of pea soup.  (last night's dinner was split pea soup with sweet corn bread!)

Working on putting up chili today.

i can probably get my mom to send me some of the jiffy mixes (which i think are tasty) but with the shipping and everything they turn out pretty expensive. i've tried making bisquick biscuits to go with my chili but they're just not the same as cornbread.   i would LOVE to have some from you troublet! i think either kind sounds yummy, maybe one of each? Cheesy
