So I'm participating in the Avatar: The Last Airbender round 2 swap currently in progress, and since my partner has received and posted her photos, I figured I can probably safely post these here, as I am super-duper happy with them!

This is just a front shot of the pair. The right shoe (your left) is Ty Lee, and the left shoe features Suki. These are just Prismacolor marker on a pair of plain white canvas Keds.

Here's a detail shot of the Suki shoe. I based her background on an image of Kyoshi Island from the Avatar artbook. The Earth Kingdom is somewhat dry and mostly desert, hence the yellow ground and gentle hills.

Here's the Ty Lee shoe. Since she's from the Fire Nation, the landscape behind her features more severe cliffs and palm trees as the Fire Nation's climate is hotter and more tropical.

I really want to make more shoes like this. They're a super fun project! Please let me know if you have ideas to make these better!

I think the only way these could be more awesome is if I had a pair!!  Grin  But they are beautiful!  You did a fantastic job on them!

Well Tygermane, if you ever organize another swap with a topic I'm passionate about, you'll have to make sure to pair us up! Or there's always personal swaps!

Wow!  Those are amazing!  Did you seal them with anything?

No, they're not sealed. I didn't know what would work best and I was afraid of making the marker bleed or something horrible like that, because that's the kind of luck I have with finished projects!
