I was very excited to try this and ordered all of the materials, but I've run into a snag--literally. My yarn catches on the spot between the cable and the connector. Any suggestions? Did I just not sand it down enough? Help, I love this idea and I have spent quite a bit on materials as well as everything I could think of to smooth out that connection, all to no avail. Anyone have any thoughts?

Wow! This is a great tutorial. It's been up for a while but I recently ordered the supplies and made a few sets for myself and sent some to my sister for her birthday. They work awe some. Thanks for putting this tutorial on line and keeping it up for others to use.

I just found Craftsy and your awesome tutorial after doing a search for Needlemaster Cables and I can't wait to make my own custom cables! You are a woman after my own heart--my dad was known for his hacks and work-arounds before those terms existed and I take after him in that way. I bought my Needlemaster set yesterday with a Jo-Ann's 40% off coupon and immediately started thinking about how to expand my cable collection. I thank you and I'm sure thousands of others have done so since you first posted this over 5 years ago!
