OK I hope this goes here since its made out of a jacket. So I have a wedding this weekend of a lifelong friend and I actually bought a dress for it. I am not a skirt girl, I don't think they look right on me. Well I needed a nice small purse to go with it and the only clutch I own was one of my moms from the 70's, completely awesome but didn't got with the style of the dress.
I had recently helped my aunt pack up a bunch of old clothes that her kids had outgrown and fell in love with this jacket.  Beautiful material and loved the beads.Had no clue what I was going to do with it at the time but I had to have it. I know it looks blue but its actually a lovely dark purple.
I was going to go all out with this, lining(which Ive never done) and a magnetic snap(also never done before)
I am stupid proud of how it turned out. I used the lapel for the flap and I love how it still looks like a lapel.
A closer look at the beads. I'm so happy that I didn't have to actually do all that beadwork. Grin
I used the lining from the jacket for the lining of the clutch. I have never done lining before so I imagine it could have been done better but I like how it turned out.
The snap was actually incredibly easy. I will definitely be doing more of them in the future.
I was so happy with how it turned out that I had to go over to my moms and show her after I finished it at 2 in the morning. Cheesy
Thanks for looking C&C welcome. I will try and get an action shot this weekend at the wedding.

I think this is awesome! I especially love how you kept the lapel the same shape and it became the flap of your clutch. Great idea reusing the lining for the lining of the purse, too. I think it looks great! Nice job!

I agree - I like that you used the same shape for the clasp. Looks way better as a clutch!

Well the wedding is done. Not as happy and fun as I was hoping since at the last minute my bf couldn't go, weddings aren't as much fun when you go alone. However the purse got tons of complements, even had some people ask where I bought it (I love it when people ask that!) I have to wait to get my moms camera for the action shot but I will be posting it soon.
