So I did an experiment last night with image transferring that worked out pretty well that I thought might be handy for all you wonderful stitchers!

If you have a printer, you CAN print on fabric. Simply iron your fabric to freezer paper (this gives it enough "tooth" to be able to feed through the printer.) Cut to paper size so it will fit in your printer. You may have to help feed the paper into the printer a bit (I did at least), it helps if you ironed the freezer paper to the fabric very smoothly.

I played around in Photoshop with my image size, and also with the gray scale of my image to make the lines lighter. I also printed my image horizontally, to give enough fabric left around it to fit into a hoop.

If anyone needs more of a tute let me know and I'll do this again and take some photos along the way. This was really helpful to me because I'm working on a piece for my brother that has a lot of details, and I didn't want to spend so much time tracing with graphite paper (which never really works too clearly for me).

That's an awesome idea. I might have to try that.

Well, I'm putting together this listography page for my partner, I figured it would be handy for other swaps too. I think I have an idea of what I'm creating for her, but I'm going to wait a few days and ask some snoopy questions Smiley

I don't know how some of you are managing to do TWO hoops! I am the slowest sewer ever, I think if i'd attempted two hoops I'd be sending them out in a new year.

I had to run into Joanne's today and get some thread heaven... is that what it is called? anyways...... dang it... they are having a huge sale! So I ended up leaving with fabric for two quilts, 50% off, 4 packages of batting, BOGOF, 6 spools of thread, BOGOF, more floss, buy 3 get 1 free, 1/4 yard of about every color of linen fabric for my hoops, 50% off and then a few odds and ends. The thread heaven was the only thing not on sale but I had a 50% off coupon for that! Tomorrow I will be doing some serious crafting! I do still have to narrow down my patten that I want to use for my hoop..... decisions, decisions...    LOVE IT!!! Cheesy

My crafting time has been hijacked by my daughter, her friend and two fairy costumes for halloween.  So, unfortunately, I haven't been able to start on my hoops yet...

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.
