I stitched this piece up for my friend AlwaysInspired.  She is collecting embroidered gnome blocks to make a quilt.

I designed this little scene with Mr Gnome hanging the address sign while Mrs Gnome makes sure it is straight - but neither paid much attention to the ladder! Poor Mr Gnome is holding onto the tree with one hand, and his trusty hammer in the other.
The 605 is AlwaysInspired's home address.

I wound up swearing a bit when it came to the gnome fill stitching - having to change thread color 6 or 7 times to fill an area the size of a quarter makes me growl Tongue  Mr Gnome is approximate 1.5" tall.

I used mostly split stitch, with a fluffy french knot (not pulled tight) for the beard, and some satin stitch for accent bits.

TY everyone Smiley

The only satin stitches were in Mr Gnome's pants, and the tiny little boots on both of them.  Most of the fill stitches were split stitch.
In the end, my favorite parts are Mr Gnome's fluffy beard, and the little silver door hinges LOL!
