I bought this pre-made tote at Joann Fabrics, then appliqued the butterflies from a fabric remnant and embroidered the little butterfly trails.  The fluffy yarn at the top was machine-sewn on because it is very wily and I couldn't do it by hand!  This is a Christmas gift for my mom, who loves purple and butterflies.

Thanks guys!  I was just at the craft store on Tuesday and saw they now have black totes in stock, which would have looked a LOT cooler!  Dang!  Maybe she'll have to get two coordinating ones :-)
