I bought a pair of these bright blue Underground boots from good old Ebay...because they were stupid cheap and it's a bit difficult to find them in my size. Smiley *got pretty big feet for a lady* Wore them out a few times and realised how gawd-awful the colour was. Sad

URGH!!

So I was debating what to do with them - sell them (the buyer gave me grief and never paid for them), dye them (too messy), or just paint on them (nope). So a fellow Craftster pointed me in the direction of a 'fabric swap' tutorial for Converse-styled shoes.....and this is the end result. I am WELL pleased with the result. Cheesy

It took, in total, a couple of hours to get it all done...not counting the overnight glue dryage....and waiting for my eyelets/shoe glue to arrive in the post. I was surprised how easy it was to do - I think another chuck recon is on it's way. Wink My boyfriend kindly asked me to pimp his chucks out with some tattoo print fabric. Smiley

The eyelets are a bit off and I had to add a bit extra fabric at the toecap, but who cares?! They're allllll mine. Smiley

Those turned out great; they look like they were always meant to be that way. And I think the aqua? laces are a really nice pop of color.

Stop being so damned positive. Staring at the sun only blinds some one. By only looking at the positive, you miss an entire beautiful world of shadows and colors. Don't be overly negative, be realistic. The world is so much more complex and beautiful that way.

Hey I really love this concept of reupolstering converse...is there a way you can explain how you did it? I clicked on the link you gave someone else that was supposed to be a tutorial and it was just a bunch of pictures of projects no instructions. Please help. I want to do this for myself. I also have larger feet for a woman and want some kick butt shoes..if you can help I'd be soooo happy thank you!

The link to the project is in green type, "All Stars Fabric Swap." Here's the actual project pages from the digital magazine:
